‘La Cavallera Valenta’, de Manolo Borrell, plasma un record d’infància, amb el conte medieval que li contava el seu pare, reflectit en la seua filla Ona, de 7 anys. Una vertadera història de vida i il·lusió per la literatura juvenil.
La literatura és una disciplina cultural i vital transversal a tots els àmbits de la nostra societat. Si no, que li ho diguen a Manolo Borrell (Alcoi, 1981) que, sent enginyer tècnic en química industrial i llicenciat en ciències ambientals, debuta com a escriptor de la mà de Reclam Editorial. Tot gràcies a ‘La Cavallera Valenta’, una adaptació del conte fantàstic que el pare de l’autor li relatava de xiquet i que, ara, té com a protagonista a la seua filla Ona, de set anys. El llibre conta la història de la Cavallera Valenta, un personatge que s’enfronta a nombrosos perills per a poder ajudar al príncep del regne. Aquest camí no el completarà sola, ja que compta amb l’ajuda en tot moment del seu fidel cavall, Tro, i un misteriós mapa que va marcant-li les pautes d’un fil argumental extraordinari.
La mateixa Ona, filla de l’autor i inspiració de la protagonista de la novel·la no cap en si de goig: “Al·lucina quan llig el llibre. No se creu que puga ser la protagonista d’esta historia. Inclús es fa la presumida”, explica Borrell, qui, a més, no descarta que esta siga sol la seua primera novel·la: “Esta ha sorgit d’imprevist, de la meua inquietud per crear i escriure. Qui sap si en el futur la curiositat segueix i ens porta a publicar més coses”.
Si bé encara no ha sigut possible fer-ho, atenent, entre altres indicacions, a les recomanacions mèdiques, durant el mes de gener, aquesta nova obra de l’editorial serà presentada en públic, continuant així amb el ritme d’actes que el segell editorial ha emprés durant l’últim terç de 2021.
Manuel Borrell Crespo, conegut per tots com Manolo, va nàixer el 1981 a Alcoi, on va passar tota la seua joventut. Va estudiar Enginyeria Tècnica en química industrial i llicenciatura en ciències ambientals. Va viure a València 10 anys de la seua vida estudiant i després treballant com a enginyer en una indústria valenciana. Des de fa 10 anys que viu a Alcoi junt a la seua família i amics, treballa a industrial a Cocentaina i és pare de dos fills, Ona i Jan, precursors i principals raó que l’espentà a escriure aquest conte infantil: ‘La Cavallera Valenta’.
